Why give my pet organic food?

Organic food is healthy for your pet and the planet as a whole. We will tell you all about organic food and its benefits to your pet.

What is organic food?

Organic products are marked with a quality label. A product can only be called organic if the entire production process complies with legal prescriptions. For example, an organic product and its production process may not include or involve any artificial fertiliser, artificial pesticides or synthetic preservatives, flavours, colours or aromas. These products are required to meet a whole range of requirements and the European government is enforcing these rules rigorously. Yarrah’s organic animal feed meets all these requirements. When a product consists of multiple ingredients, all of them were grown or bred organically. The herbs and grains were grown without artificial fertiliser and the animals were bred organically. We will tell you all about this in the article “What does organic mean and what is organic food?”.

Allergies on the rise

Allergies among dogs and cats are on the rise. There is no clear cause, although it may be related to their food. Regular food, which isn’t produced organically, contains traces of herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics and hormones. In addition, the production process of this type of food relies heavily on chemical flavours, colours and aromas. This is a potential cause for the increase in allergies among dogs and cats. Organic food does not contain any of these substances which means your pet is getting pure and clean food.

Better for animal wellbeing

Organic food isn’t just better for your pet, but for animal wellbeing as a whole as well. Yarrah uses meat sourced from animals that enjoyed a longer and better life. The food can be recognised by the Beter Leven label or the MSC logo for fish that was sourced sustainably.
